Former Canterbury Womens Golf Association (CWGA) President and McLeans Island Life Member Annette Laugesen passed away recently after a brief battle with cancer.
Her contribution to golf in Canterbury started in 1988 when she joined the CWGA as a committee member and remained on the committee until she was elected Vice President in 2000, and then President in 2002 until to 2003. During this time she was also the Canterbury delegate to the New Zealand Women's Golf Council.
Annette was still active playing golf and serving her club up until her passing.
Her funeral service is being held at Lamb & Hayward in Wairakei Road on Friday 17 June at 2pm.
