The 2023 Canterbury Secondary School Golf Championships will be taking place on Monday 27 March at Templeton Golf Club as part of the weeklong Secondary Schools Summer Tournament week. Entries have been flowing for this year’s event with a total of 83 players set to take part, a record number for this event.
In total there will be 19 different schools from across the region that will be represented with schools having the choice of entering teams for the team’s aspect as well as individuals. All up there will be 22 teams competing as well as 17 individuals. Prizes include Team Gross and Stableford as well as all players competing for the Gross and Stableford individual prizes, the latter prize category giving the entire playing field something to strive for.
With the event being unable to be delivered in 2022 for various reasons we are excited to see the event back on the calendar, a sentiment shared by the schools and players alike demonstrated by the number of participants taking part. Many of which are young players that don’t regularly play in youth events which is fantastic to see and shows the appeal of players being able to represent their school.
