Junior Interclub Ind. Winner 2021 Otis Scott Cain LR The Final Round of Junior Matchplay Interclub round robin play was completed on Sunday at  Avondale Golf Club with the Semi-Finalists being confirmed. It was very tight at the top of the table with Avondale Gold just pipping Russley White by a countback on individual games won, while a point back Russley White and Kaiapoi were also split by a countback on individual games won.  The completion of round robin play also saw the conclusion of the Best Individual Performance award for players. Men's Golf Team Finalists for Canterbury Team of the Year!

NZ INTERPROVINCIAL CANTERBURY Our champion 2020 Canterbury Men's Interprovincial Team have been named as a finalist for the 2021 Canterbury Sports Awards to be held at Hagley Oval on 28 May. They are in illustrious company: Canterbury Orthopaedic Services Trust Outstanding Team of the Year - Finalists Canterbury Men's Golf Team - Golf Canterbury Womens Cricket team - The Magicians - Cricket Crusaders - Rugby Union  With COVID restrictions the function is limited to 100 people attending and golf will be represented by  Mike Taylor (Manager), Mike Toeke (Captain), Ian Donaldson (Convenor of Selectors), and Mike Rondel (President).

9 Hole Interclub Final

9 Hole Interclub Winners 2021 Russley 1 LR The Canterbury 9 Hole Interclub Final was played at Rangiora today where it was calm and settled with no wind or frost, and the course in great condition. All the 9 hole teams turned out for this final and played their 9 holes alongside the two finalists from Coringa and Russley. The final was played in a friendly theme through-out the round and all teams were outside the clubhouse to warmly cheer the last pairings on at the final hole. Women's 18 Hole Silver & 18 Hole 4's Interclub Finals

Womens 18 Hole Silver Winners 2021 Harewood LR The Women's 18 Hole Silver and 18 Hole 4's Interclub Finals were played at Weedons Golf Club yesterday in cool, foggy conditions and the course in great order. The 18 Hole Silver Final between Clearwater and Harewood was always going to be hard fought as both teams had finished locked at the top-of-the-table after round-robin play. While both teams had comfortable wins further down the order it was the battle at the top between Virginia Faass and Debbie Scott that swung the result in Harewood's favour with Debbie gaining the vital win at the 18th, winning 1up. The winning Harewood team pictured...

Presidents Grade Winners 2021 Templeton LR The final round of Presidents Grade Interclub was held at Bottle Lake Golf Club yesterday in warm, calm autumn conditions with the course in great order.  The Champion Templeton team of, from left Paul Prendergast, Richard Hampton, John Hampton, Mark O Connor, Wayne Huddy, Tony Pupich, Murray Huddy, John Sykes and Lex Franklin were in control from the start of the competition getting away to a flying start winning their first ten matches and setting up what appeared to be an unasailable lead, however this was put to test as Templeton finished winless over the final three rounds. Scargill Win Women's National Club Teams' District Final

Womens National Club Teams District Final Winners 2021 Scargill LR On a mild still day on Friday 30 April and a challenging fast running course at Avondale, twenty-four Canterbury club teams of four contested the District Final of the annual NZ National Club Teams' event. The format was a 4BBB with the best-ball of the team two pairs added together. It was a closely contested competition with the Scargill club team emerging the winner with a combined score of 122, their players from left are Emma MacFarlane, Jo Sampson, Helen Lang and Viv Pooley. IFM Friends of Canterbury Golf Members Tournament

20210430 115255 small There was a strong turnout for the first Friends of Canterbury Golf Members Tournament held at Waimakariri Gorge Golf Club last Friday. Members were asked to bring two friends to play as a team in a three person ambrose format. The tournament would not have been possible without the generous support of Karen and Mike and their team at IFM Ltd, and the fantastic cooperation from the Waimak Gorge Golf Club. Metro B Winners 2021 Coringa LR The Finals of Metro A & B Interclub were played at McLeans Island Golf Club on Sunday in warm, calm conditions and the course in great order. The Metro A Final between Russley and Bottle Lake was a very tight affair with three matches going to the wire before last year's champions Bottle Lake made it back-to-back titles defeating Russley 4.5-3.5.The victorious Botlle Lake team of, from left Simon Carey, Shayne Dwyer, Mark Silcock, Trevor Hope, Richard Falloon and Ian Chaney. End of an Era at Canterbury Golf

Rachel Thow It was the end of an era at Canterbury Golf when Golf Development Manager Rachel Thow finished up after 11 1/2 years in the role. Rachel's dedication, passion, and high level of expertise was celebrated last Thursday at Canterbury Golf headquarters with over 40 people coming along to bid her farewell. Many people spoke about their involvement with Rachel and the consistent theme was her unwavering dedication to providing the highest service level possible to everyone she interacted with.
