Jocelyn Blackmore It is with pleasure that Canterbury Golf announces the addition of Jocelyn Blackmore to the team.  Jocelyn will be taking on the new full-time role of Participation Coordinator that has been created due to the phenomenal growth and increased focus on work fostering participation in golf, including overseeing our very successful Futures Canterbury programme.  She brings to the position a wealth of golf experience having played since a young age, playing many years of Pollock Cup, and representing the Canterbury Senior Women’s Team.  She is ably supported by her husband Matt Holten who many in the golf community will know and respect...

Canterbury Finish Fourth at NZ Women's Masters

NZ Womens Masters Team2 The 2021 NZ Women's Masters was heavily affected with over 75mm of rain falling during the tournament. This forced the organisers to abandon play on Saturday as the course became unplayable and water-logged. This was only the second time in its 28-year history that play jeopardized the 72-hole format forcing the event to be reduced to only 36 holes. Canterbury North vs Buller Westland 2021 LR The Canterbury North vs Buller Westland Representative fixture was played at Hanmer Springs Golf Club on the weekend in warm, sunny conditions with the course in great order. The matches were played in great spirit and Hanmer Springs Golf Club were excellent hosts. Canterbury North Seniors defeated Buller Westland 14.5 - 5.5- Fourball 4 - 1- Foursomes 2.5 - 2.5- Singles 8 - 2 Canterbury North Intermediates defeated Buller Westland 12 - 8- Fourball 4.5 - .5- Foursomes 1 - 4- Singles 6.5 - 3.5 Overall Canterbury North defeated Buller Westland 26.5 - 13.5

Zach May and Amy Weng small cropped Zach May and Amy Weng came through some tough opposition to win their maiden titles at the 2021 Hazlett Insurance Canterbury Matchplay Championships held at Templeton Golf Club over the weekend. For May it continued his steady rise through the amateur ranks to the top echelon of amateur golfers in New Zealand. Through the round of 16 and the quarter finals on Saturday May played steady golf beating Dan Laughton and Jake Roberts. Clearwater Win Promotion to Woodward Cup

Blank Cup Runner up Clearwater Crpoped The Woodward Cup Promotion / Relegation match was played at Russley Golf Club last Sunday in fine weather and the ciourse in great condition. Four teams were involved in the gross stableford format competition, Amberley, Clearwater, Hororata and Lincoln. It was the Clearwater team of Bill O'Brien (Manager), Harris Kim, Leon Yee, Michael Bailey, Martin Taylor, Ben Burgess, William Bastings, Lou Vieceli and Ryan Adams that proved too strong finishing on 228 stableford points, 34 points clear of Hororata on 194, Amberley 187 and Lincoln on 171 points. Preview - 2021 Hazlett Insurance Canterbury Matchplay Championships

Hazlett Insurance tile2 The 2021 Hazlett Insurance Canterbury Matchplay Championships is being held at Templeton Golf Club this weekend. The field has slightly been affected by COVID restrictions with some out-of-town players not being able to travel, in particular Auckland-based Joshua Bai who placed third in the recent Canterbury Strokeplay. The Men's Championship bracket of 16 players will tee-off Saturday morning with Harewood's Matt McLean the top seed. He will face Waitikiri's Kris O'Neill. Second seed Josh Smith (Ashburton) will face Templeton's Mac McCall. and third seed Royal Auckland's Cameron Harlock who was out of Auckland when Level 3 hit, will face Jake Roberts....
