Semi Finalists found for 2019 Woodward & Pollock Cups

Stan Rich Salver Winner 2019 Andrew Dufton and Nic Kay LR In fine Spring conditions at Pegasus Golf Club yesterday the Woodward Cup semi-finalists were found for Finals Day on 10 November at Templeton. Two rounds were played on a course in superb condition after the recent Charles Tour Pegasus Open. Top qualifier Christchurch will play fourth placed Waitikiri in one semi, while second placed Russley will play third placed Harewood in the other. Round 8 Hosts Pegasus had a chance to make the semis but did not get off to the start they wanted when they lost to Waitikiri 4.5-3.5 in the morning. Amy Hayato Web The Eagles NZ U17 Boys & Girls Golf Championship were played at the Te Awamutu Golf Club from 7-9 October. Canterbury golfers had a great tournament, in the Girls U17 Championship Amy Weng (Russley) won the 54 Hole Gross by 1 shot with scores of 75, 68 and 73 for a total of 216. Amy’s 68 was 5 under par and if it wasn’t for placing, it would have been a course record. Millennium Trophy

Millennium Trophy Pres 2019 LR The annual Millennium Trophy match between Canterbury and Aorangi was played at Ashburton Golf Club yesterday in warm spring weather and the course in pristine condition. Junior Golfers Enjoy School Holiday Event

Canterbury Junior Tournament Russley A field of 46 players participated in the Canterbury Junior Tournament held at the Russley Golf Club. In the 9 hole section this included 11 young golfers playing from the newly installed purple course. "Over ten golf courses in Canterbury have now installed the purple course which is approriate to the players ability" said Canterbury Golf Development Manager Rachel Thow. "Clubs are also utilising the purple course for fun social events and adult players that are newer to the game to play from". Canterbury Win Men's Masters South Island Interprovincial

Canterbury Mens Masters SIIP Team Cropped2 The Canterbury Men's Masters Team have won the South Island Interprovincial title in a closely fought battle between the five districts. The Timaru Golf Club hosted the South Island fixture, providing a great opportunity for the South Island districts to play competitive rounds ahead of the NZ Men's Freyberg that will also be played at the same venue in November. The weather proved very challenging on the Saturday with rain and cold southerly winds. The players battled the conditions and managed to complete all four rounds. Woodward CupRound 6 The first double-header round was completed at Christchurch Golf Club yesterday in hot and blustery nor-west conditions. There was a minor upset when seventh placed Pegasus comprehensively beat frontrunners Christchurch 5.5-2.5. Wins to Peter Brinsdon, James Cadenhead, Andrew Green, Zach May, Rodney Van Steenis, and a half to Mike Taylor sealed the victory.
