Town vs Country

Town v Country 2019 Teams LR The Annual Town vs Country fixture was played at Hororata on Sunday in perfect spring weather conditions and the course in superb order.  The Senior Men morning foursomes were all square at 3-3, however in the afternoon singles Town proved too strong winning 8.5-3.5 to win 11.5-6.5 overall. In the Men's Masters, Town held a slender lead after the morning foursomes 2.5-1.5 and managed to retain their advantage into the afternoon singles, despite some close matches, to win the singles 4.5-3.5 and defeat Country 7-5 overall.  The Junior Boy's also fought out some tight matches with Town edging Country in the foursomes 1.5-.5...

Cheviot - Canterbury North Women's Interclub Champions

North Canterbury Womens 2019 Winners Cheviot LR The final round of Canterbury North Women's Interclub was played at Cheviot yesterday in perfect spring conditions and the course in great order.   Leading into the final day Cheviot were on top of the table, but having the bye had to wait and hope they wouldn't be overtaken by Scargill who were playing Hanmer Springs. So it proved with Hanmer Springs winning comfortably. There was good reason for excitement in the Cheviot squad as the last time they were champions was 20 years ago in 1999. Annual Report 2018 2019 Title Page Canterbury Golf’s 2018-2019 Annual Report has just been published in time for the Canterbury Golf AGM on 11 September at Russley Golf Club. The report contains many highlights including the formation of the Futures Canterbury Selwyn Hub, the Canterbury Club Golf Forum held at Clearwater in early May, representative achievements including Canterbury winning the NZ Women’s Masters, and outstanding individual efforts by Juliana Hung and Kazuma Kobori. Pegasus Set to Host Charles Tour DVS Pegasus Open

IMG 0209 vPpD7ABn 300 The Jennian Homes Charles Tour has found a new home in Christchurch with the DVS Pegasus Open to take place on October 3–6, at the Pegasus Golf Club. After seven successful years at Harewood, Pegasus is taking over the reins with DVS coming onboard as the headline sponsor for the event in association with NewstalkZB. Pegasus already plays host to the PGA Tour of Australia’s SEC NZPGA Championship, which was held there for the first time in March. Woodward Cup With a warm nor-west breeze blowing it was ideal playing conditions at Coringa Golf Club for the third round of the Woodward Cup yesterday. The course was presented in excellent condition with greens running at a slick 11.5 and playing the black tees presenting a stern challenge to our top players. Adult Beginner Programme Starts Back at Tai Tapu

Tai Tapu Adult Coaching Cropped Following the sucess of previous programmes, Tai Tapu Golf Club is now offering it's unique adult beginner programme.  The programme has been running for the past three years which has been developed by PGA Professional Kevin Hughes. The programme provides the opportunity for those new to golf or for those that may have had a break from golf to come along and develop skills and build friendships in a supportive environemnt with other adults. Woodward Cup Round 2 at Russley

19 August 2019

Round two of the 2019 Woodward Cup teed off at Russley Golf Club yesterday in fine winter conditions.  The feature match was Christchurch v Templeton and in the end it proved to be a one-sided result with Christchurch winning 6.5-1.5. Nick Franzmann and Jason Sincock got the ball rolling for Christchurch with 5/4 and 2/1 victories respectively. They were followed with wins to Richard Reed and Mike Toeke. Templeton's only win came from Jordan Latter who beat Marcel Boet 1up while Jordan Bakermans and Todd Gantley halved. Tom Parker and Nic Kay completed the vicotry for Christchurch.
