The Final Round of Canterbury Central Shield Interclub was played at Charteris Bay on Sunday in challenging, wintery conditions with Hororata’s team of, from left Al Sime, Roy Stieller, Anton Fouchee, Owen Miller and Andrew Inch, absent Reinhardt Van Zyl halving their match 3-3 with Weedons Red to claim the Central Shield Champion Title. The win halted the Weedons Club attempt for a ninth consecutive title.

It proved to be a very challenging day for the Canterbury Golf Tour Championship & Am-Am event with tough weather conditions. We are grateful to the Clearwater Golf Club for their continued support allowing us to play our major event at the championship course. The Tour Championship is the final event on the Canterbury Golf Order of Merit schedule which sees players accumulate points over the season based on their tournament placings. The final Tour Championship is also an opportunity for our Canterbury Golf Sponsors and Volunteers to be paired with our top players in a 4BBB Am-Am event.

Canterbury Golf Life Member George Walker passed away peacefully late late week.
George was President of Canterbury Golf in 1979, and contributed significantly to the financial management of the Association through the 70's and 80's.
His funeral is on Monday 28 May, 10am at Lamb & Hayward Wairakei Rd.

New Zealand Golf is excited to announce the 2018/19 National Academy squad, which includes six new names who join a list of 10 players looking to take their careers to the next level.
These players have been selected using the refreshed criteria of the recently published New Zealand Golf Selection Policy.

The Presidents Grade Interclub Final was played at Weedons Country Club yesterday with cool autumn condiions initially and then a strong, blustery nor wester to contend with later in the day. The course was presented in great order for the event.

The Women's Weekend Interclub Final was Played at The Pegasus Golf Club on Sunday in fine, cool conditions with the course in excellent order.
Defending Champions Kaiapoi, from left Diane Brown, Michelle Anngow, Dedrie Trnjanin and Janine Hosking made it back to back wins for the North Canterbury club defeating Clearwater's Marg Powling, Pam Bowden, Chris Plimmer and Pippa Neilson in dominant fashion 3 -1. This continued Kaiapoi's very proud record in Women's Weekend Interclub winning 6 of the last 11 years' Weekend Interclub Finals.

The Final round of Junior Interclub Matchplay round robin was completed yesterday at Christchurch Golf Club while also identifyig the best individual performances over the three rounds of matchplay.
The Junior Interclub Maori Wahaika Trophy for the best individual performance was won jointly by Yoyo Fu (Coringa) who played for the Weedons Composite team and Lewis Patrick (Kaiapoi) pictured left, who both went through the three rounds unbeaten.

The North Canterbury Men’s Interclub Finals were played at Waimakiriri Gorge Golf Club yesterday in calm, cool conditions with the course in great order.
The Kaikoura Cup Final between Pegasus Blue and Culverden was won in convincing fashion by Pegasus’, from left Rodney Van Steenis, Andrew Green, Phil Stephens, Peter Brinsdon, Matt Burns and Shaun Allan defeating Culverden’s Austin Hamilton, Brandon Parker, Landon Gardiner, James Metzger, Jamie Mead and Dean Cameron 6 - 0. It was Pegasus' third consecutive Kaikoura Cup Victory.
