While the Canterbury Women's Team was announced as the winner of the Canterbury Sports Team of the Year, four members of the team were in Dunedin competing at the South Island Stroke Play played at the St Clair Golf Club.
Momoka Kobori showed her class once again defending her title she won in 2015 finishing on four under par to win the Women's South Island Stroke Play by five shots from teammate Hillary O'Connor who recovered from a rough first round to take out second place by one shot from Amelia Garvey. Both Hillary and Amelia completed superb final rounds of four under par 70 to secure their positions in the top three.
