Kaiapoi Golf Club hosted the National Women’s District Final Championship on Friday in calm, sunny weather conditions and the course in immaculate order.
Twenty teams competed for District Championship honours and it was a very close contest with only nine shots separating the first 12 teams.
Kaiapoi’s home team of, from left Diane Brown, Michelle Anngow, Lois Farrier and Suzanne Griffith made it back-to-back victories for the North Canterbury Club with a combined pairs 4BBB total of 132 with the Ellesmere’s Jane Pangborn, Leonie Chambers, Heather McKimmie and Heather Templeton a shot back on 133 on countback from Bottle Lake’s Clare Pitt, Erin Hensley, Marlene Campion and Joanne Thompson. Amuri finished fourth on 136 with Templeton fifth on 137 on countback from Amberley.
Kaiapoi will now have to wait to see how their 13 under course rating score will stand against all other club team scores for the National title.
