Canterbury Golf is excited to share our refreshed Young People in Golf Plan and Talent Development Plan. Our role at Canterbury Golf is to lead the development and promotion of golf in Canterbury with our goal being to foster golf as a sport of choice for young people.
We aim to help young people fall in love with the game and this refreshed Young People Plan creates a clear pathway for their engagement – from beginner to performance golf, focussed on creating positive experiences that meet the diverse needs of the young people within our region.
Within this plan, we have created a Young People Development Framework table that visually shows the options available to young people as they journey through the game. Whilst we recognise that everyone’s journey will not look the same, this framework provides a guide to what options are available in terms of learn and play.
Within the framework table readers will also see a section titled Talent Development which is focussed on supporting young aspirational players. Accordingly, we are also excited to launch our new Canterbury Golf Talent Development Plan. The purpose of this is to support the development of young cantabrians to realise their potential as golfers and people.
