Visitors are welcome at the Charteris Bay Golf Club, which is situated on the South side of the Lyttelton Harbour Basin, some 27 km. from central Christchurch, on the main road to Diamond Harbour via Governor's Bay.

The Club is set in the scenic Orton Bradley Park, renowned for its sea views, imposing volcanic landscape and peaceful atmosphere. Although the course is at present a nine-hole one, different tees are used to make the second nine a different challenge. Much of the course is easy walking but there are one or two climbs where the views are breathtaking, too. A deep gully and a winding stream contribute to the appeal and challenges offered by a round here.
The Clubhouse retains its historic charm and is available for hire. When it is open, visitors are welcome there.
