Rob Nicholl was the toast of Charteris Bay on Saturday afternoon when he was awarded The Elmwood Trading Co. Canterbury Golf Volunteer of the Year in front of a packed clubhouse.
Rob was rewarded and recognised for an incredible contribution to the club in the last year - over 570 hours of volunteer labour. This included:
375 hours spent maintaining and servicing machinery.
140 hours spent on a project to expand their workshop inlcuding helping raise funds and building the extension.
50 hours spent on installing a new bridge between the 18th and 1st holes.

Rounds 1 & 3 were played at Avondale Golf Club yesterday to complete round-robin for the 2021 Woodward Cup and find the semi-finalists to compete on Finals Day Sunday 21 November at Christchurch Golf Club.

Harewood kept their slim semi-final hopes alive with a comprehensive 7-1 win over bottom-placed Weedons. Matt McLean, Scott Manyweathers, Harry Weeds, Gavin O'Hara, Dan Lundt, Sam Watkinson, and Kerry Branson won for Harewood, while Keith Mills got the sole win for Weedons.

It was a special occasion at Waitikiri Golf Club yesterday when Pam Ellis received her Canterbury Golf Life Membership in front of an appreciative gathering of women club members who had come especially to honour Pam.
Pam received her plaque from fellow Life Member Sue McFarlane and a nice bunch of flowers from Canterbury Golf Executive Commitee Member Kate Johnstone.
Pam's service began in 2009 managing the womens masters team for six years and also being a team selector for that time. She has also been on the womens course rating committee since that time and continues to contribute today. In 2010...

2021 Boys and Girls Interprovincial Summary
Last week saw our Boys and Girls age group teams travel away to their annual Interprovincial tournaments held at Cambridge Golf Club and Rotorua Golf Club respectively. Amongst the backdrop of some uncertain travel restrictions in the build-up to the events, both tournaments got the initial green light to proceed with both teams traveling out as planned.

Former Canterbury Golf President and Hawarden Golf Club stalwart Max Walker received his Canterbury Golf Life Membership on Saturday when Canterbury Golf President Mike Rondel and General Manager Grant Lewis visited the club. After being soundly beaten in the haggle against Max and his long time friend Keith Yorston, Max was presented with his Life Membership by Mike Rondel in front of an appreciative gathering of club members.

Rounds 8 and 9 of the 2021 Woodward Cup were played yesterday in fine warm conditions at Pegasus Golf Club.

The match of the round was the title contender clash between Russley and Pegasus. On their home course Pegasus were too strong winning 6-2. There were some great match-ups. The final round of Pollock Cup was played yesterday at Clearwater Golf Club in fine, sunny conditions and the course in excellent order.
Christchurch cemented their place in the final with another 6-0 win, this time over Pegasus. In a very dominant performance Catherine Bell, Olive Tapu, Monica Tulisi, Nicky Webb, Mel Newburn and Marg-Mary Coughlan all had convincing wins.
