After the first round was washed out last weekend the 2021 Woodward Cup finally got underway in fine conditions at Clearwater yesterday.
Alot of interest centred around the new Templeton line-up and they didn't disappoint with a solid 6-2 win over a gutsy Avondale. Mike Toeke, Ryan Bellamy, and Dan Laughton won well, while Nick Franzman, Tom Wilson, and Josh Simpson got last hole wins. For Avondale Richard Sinclair soundly beat Jordon Latter, and Dan Moriarty beat Sam McGill.

Pollock Cup commenced at Pegasus Golf Club on Sunday with the home side having the bye, while the other two games were very tight till the end.
Christchurch edged out Waitikiri 3.5-2.5 with Christchurch's wins coming courtesy of Nicky Webb, Melissa Newburn and a big win for Ina Lee-Hall while Catherine Bell halved her match with Kim Moggach at the top of the order. Waitikiri's other two wins came from Jenny Clarke and Chris Marple.

This year’s Pollock Cup starts this Sunday at Pegasus Golf Club and will have a new look to it with some off-season player movement between clubs, some new faces to Pollock Cup and several of our top women golfers missing after turning professional since last year’s competition.

The first round of Woodward, Blank and Simon Cup has been postponed due to the wet weather and courses being unplayable. This round will be postponed to the scheduled reserve day which is 31st October for Woodward and Blank Cups and 17th October for Simon Cup.

The Junior Interclub Match Play Final between Avondale Gold and Russley Blue was played at Waimairi Beach on Sunday in fine, cool conditions and the course in great order.
The outcome of the game was not clear until the final hole with two of the matches going down to the wire before Avondale Gold edged out Russley Blue 3-1 to become Junior Interclub Champions for 2021.
