The Canterbury Golf Presidents & Secretaries Day was held at Harewood Golf Club on Friday in warm, norwest conditions and the course in great order.
The event was well supported by Canterbury Club Presidents/Secretaries and Representatives together with Life Members, The Eagles Society, Canterbury Referees Assn, Convenors and the Canterbury Golf Executive. Players were also very fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with SIr Bob Charles who was present at the meal and prizegiving and very generously donated copies of his newly published biography as prizes to the winning President and Secretary. The Annual Canterbury Golf Women's Christmas Tournament was held at Bottle Lake on Friday and the field of 58 ladies played in warm windy conditions with the course in great order.

The Canterbury Golf 9 Hole Mixed Christmas Tournament was held at Waitikiri Golf Course yesterday in very hot, windy conditions with the course looking in great order. A great field of 73 Nine Hole golfers turned out for the last event of their year.

The Canterbury Central Christmas Tournament was held at Weedons on Sunday. This annual mixed event has been held since 1974 to recognise the contributions made by the lady members of Canterbury Central Clubs when hosting interclub events.
The format is American Foursomes and Jacqui Planicka (Weedons) and Glenn Hotton (Ellesmere) who finished with a net 66.4 are pictured with the Neil Oliver Trophy which is presented for the best net score.

Woodward Cup Final
In the final between Russley and Christchurch it was Russley that were out of the blocks early building a nice lead through nine holes. Reid Hilton and Hiroki Miya were in superb form early with Hilton chipping in for eagle on the 4th hole, and was one inch from a hole-in-one on the 9th. Miya made birdie from the trees on the 5th hole. Both went to the turn 3up over Mike Toeke and Jordan Bakermans respectively. An amazing end to another big week on the national stage for Canterbury Golf. The Flexi Lease Canterbury Women's Team were at their best throughout the week with dominant wins against Taranaki, Waikato, Tasman, Northland and Manawatu-Whanganui in the round-robin play.

The rescheduled Men's Interclub Finals Day for Woodward, Blank and Simon Cups are on this Sunday 6 December at Waitikiri Golf Club.
Semi-Final matches for Woodward and Blank Cups will be played in the morning commencing at 8.00am. Finals for these competitions together with the Simon Cup will commence in the afternoon at 1.00pm.

Canterbury Golf women's recent events have been dogged with inclement weather and Monday 30 November was no exception when the cold southerly wind and rain struck the Women's annual CRYSTALP Jewellery Sponsored Ringers Tournament at the Kaiapoi golf course.
This was reflected in the scores but the winners, Weedons Golf Club with the pairing of Vicki Ward and Gail Parkinson returned a creditable total score of 69 stableford points, in the conditions.
