The annual Cantebury vs Aorangi Represenative fixture was played at Ashburton Golf Club yesterday in fine, cool conditions with course in great order.
The Canterbury Women were dominant in their morning reverse singles winning 6-2 and continued to press home their advantage in the afternoon singles to again win 6-2 and 12-4 overall to retain the Templar Trophy. New Zealand Golf have named a team to compete in The Spirit International held at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Texas later this year.
Matt McLean (Harewood), Tyler Wood (Palmerston North), Wenyung Keh (Pakuranga), and Momoka Kobori (Rangiora) make up the four-person squad who represent New Zealand at this championship for the first time since 2007. New Zealand earned an invitation to this event through our fourth-place finish at the Eisenhower Trophy, and our 19th place finish at the Espirito Santo Trophy last year.

Round five of the Woodward and Pollock Cups were held yesterday at Harewood and Russley respectively in sunny, cool conditions but a bit damp underfoot after early morning rain.

Unbeaten Harewood had the home advantage against Russley but the current champions got into their work quickly with Hayato Miya and Regan Kilpatrick having big wins at the top of the order, while Hamish Kerr, Michael McAuley, Owen Burgess, Jacob Roberts and Andrew Dufton finished the job to win decisively 7-1 with Matt McLean registering Harewood's sole win.

This year’s National Women’s Home Links and National Teams Championship results have been finalised.Congratulations to Isy McLaughlin (Hororata) who is this year’s National Winner of the Veterans Trophy competition and Carolyn Rickard (Harewood) National Winner of the Coronation Medal Competition. Round four of the Woodward and Pollock Cups were held yesterday at Weedons and Waitikiri respectively in cool conditions.

Most interest centred around the clash between in-form teams Harewood and Bottle Lake. It was Harewood who came out on top 4.5-3.5. Harewood had wins to Rhian Hamilton, Josh Smith, Scott Manyweathers, Sam Watkinson, and Ryan Barham halved with Jason Campbell. Bottle Lake's Kris O'Neill claimed a notable scalp beating Matt McLean 1up. Their other wins went to Steve Dellow and Alisdair Reid at the bottom of the order.

The Canterbury Golf 9 Hole Tournament was played at Avondale Golf Club today, with the course in great order and a field of 35 golfers playing in cool but sunny conditions.
In the Women's Grade 1, Lorraine Barnett (Pegasus) was first with 20 stableford points, from Kathryn Ferris (Avondale) on 18 pts and Fiona Matheson (Pegasus) third on 17 pts.
Women's Grade 2 was won by Jane Trotter (Russley) with 21 pts, from Anne Harris (Avondale) on 20 pts and third, Vivienne Cowley (Russley) with 17 pts.
