The Canterbury Men's Masters team performed at a consistently high level throughout the week, at the NZ Freyberg played at the Timaru Golf Club, to finish unbeaten and win the runners up plate.
The week involves eight round robin matches, which provides both physical and mental challenges playing against the top teams from throughout New Zealand.
Bay of Plenty won the Freyberg Masters title after winning all eight matches. While Canterbury were also unbeaten they had two halves against Auckland and Aorangi. The 2019 NZ Men's Freyberg starts today being played at Timaru Golf Club. Each team will play eight round robin matches taking them through to Friday afternoon when the winner will be determine.
The Canterbury Men's Masters Team is Andrew Dufton, Jonathan Stieller, Brett Turner, Aaron Forsyth, Jason Sincock and reserve Anton Fouchee. The team are managed by Kevin Moyle.

The final round of Junior Foursomes Interclub was held at Waimairi Beach on Sunday morning. It was a beautiful, warm morning, the course was in great condition and such an awesome venue for the junior golfers to play at.
In the 18 Hole competition the Weedons team got up to win by 1 point on 275 pts from Kaiapoi on 274 pts, with Russley White third on 269 pts, so amazingly close after four rounds with only 7 points separating the top 4 teams over the 4 rounds.

The Interclub Finals day is coming up on Sunday 10 November at Templeton Golf Club with semi final matches being played in the morning starting at 8am for Woodward, Blank and Pollock Cup. The Simon Cup final will be played in the afternoon starting at 1pm following the semi final match at Coringa on 3 November.

The 2019 Golf Warehouse Canterbury Matchplay was held over Labour Weekend at Russley Golf Club with 36 hole qualifying on Saturday leading into the matchplay on Sunday and Monday. Weather conditions were reasonably kind over the three days with fine but blustery nor-west conditions challenging players at times, particularly the men who found the black tees at Russley a stern test.

The Flexi Lease Canterbury Women’s team have finished tied at the top of the points table with Tasman at the South Island Interprovincial played at the Marlborough Golf Club. With the teams tied on points it came down to games. Tasman have won the title for 2019 finishing half a game ahead of Canterbury. In fine Spring conditions at Pegasus Golf Club yesterday the Woodward Cup semi-finalists were found for Finals Day on 10 November at Templeton. Two rounds were played on a course in superb condition after the recent Charles Tour Pegasus Open.
Top qualifier Christchurch will play fourth placed Waitikiri in one semi, while second placed Russley will play third placed Harewood in the other.
