The Brandon course of the Ashburton Golf Club was the venue for the Annual Canterbury and Aorangi Representative match yesterday.
Players enjoyed excellent overhead and course conditions and the firm conditions were appreciated with firm true greens and some tricky pin positions testing player's course management and putting skills.
In the Senior Men, Canterbury jumped out to a fast start in the morning round to lead 6.5-1.5 after the first 18 holes. The Final round of Canterbury North Women's Interclub was played at Culverden on Monday with Hawarden defeating Scargill 4-2 to remain unbeaten for the season and win the competition, making it back-to-back victories after also winning in 2017. Country finished second and Scargill third.

Matt McLean has blitzed the field at the North Island Stroke Play to win by a whopping nine shots.
McLean’s clinical weekend included back-to-back rounds of 65 at Whakatane to finish with a total of 12-under par to leave in-form players Jang Hyun Lee (second) and New Zealand Age Group champion, Sung Jin Yeo (third) in his dust.
Entering the final round with a commanding lead, McLean showed class to produce five birdies and no bogeys to show why he deserves his name engraved on the trophy.

The Final rounds of 2018 Woodward, Blank, Simon and Pollock Cups have now been completed with Semi-Finalists being identified for all competitions.
Simon Cup Semi-Finals will be played at Russley Golf Club on 23 September with the Final, together with Woodward, Blank and Pollock Cup Semi-Finals and Finals also at Russley on Sunday 30 September, starting at 8.00am.

The sixth round of Pollock Cup was played at Christchurch Golf Club yesterday in challenging weather conditions.
Christchurch had the bye and Pegaus took their chance to go top of the table defeating Harewood 3.5-2.5 with several close matches, in particular Hillary O'Connor, for Pegasus and Catherine Knight halving at the top of the order, while Rion Ishizawa, Jessica Crosbie and Bobbi Oliver had wins for Pegasus. Lynda Brown and Liz Warren had wins for Harewood in two other close matches.

Challenging weather conditions greeted players at Avondale Golf Club for the eighth round of Woodward Cup yesterday where three teams confirmed their tickets to the finals. Avondale relished the opportunity to play at home and put this advantage to good use beating Coringa 5-3 in what was an important win for the hosts. With four games going down the last hole, there was opportunity for the result to be different, however Hayden Burns, Tiaki Davis, Nick Brennan, Daniel Vesty and James Boswell all came in strong and had wins for Avondale.
