Category 1 & 2 - points awarded to the top 8 players in each section.
For Order of Merit points calculations, a player's total points accumulated over the Order of Merit season are divided by the number of 'Counting' events in each category as indicated above eg. 4 for Women, 6 for Men etc. If a player receives Order of Merit points in more than 6 events, their 6 best points scores are used for the calculation with the lowest points score being eliminated.
If players are tied the points will be shared, no countback. Points will be rounded to two decimal points.
Order of Merit Titles
The winner of the Women's Open, Women's Masters, Men's Open and Men's Masters titles will be awarded the Canterbury Order of Merit trophies which will be presented at the Tour Championship.
Order of Merit Conditions 2024/25
- All players are eligible to play on the CGI Tour - Order of Merit, provided they are eligible and available to play for Canterbury under the regulations laid down by Canterbury Golf for the 2024/25 representative season.
- To be eligible to win the Order of Merit Title, players must play in the Tour Championship unless granted by Canterbury Golf in extenuating circumstances.
- For points to be allocated a minimum of four eligible players in the Men's/Men's Masters section or two in the Women's/Women's Master section, must play in the event.
- Players will be awarded points for the Masters categories if they are 40 years + as at the first day of the tournament.
- Please note that in the Junior Order of Merit, there is the possibility of players being granted a dispensation to play in a higher age category than they are currently eligible to compete in. With U19 category players also being eligible for Men’s Open points, any junior player who may be granted dispensation to play in the U19 category will in turn be able to play for Men’s category points too.
OOM Development Funds
In the interest of wanting to increase the incentive for local players to play in the various OOM events throughout the season, as well as create another avenue to help players’ development, Development Fund prizes are in place for the CGI Tour – OOM. These Development Funds will be awarded to the top-performing players in each category, to read more about this and discover the Development Fund prizes players will be competing for and what they can be used for, read – HERE.
